Horray!!
What an awesome Sunday for the Pack! We not only bumped off a 2 seed, we bumped off the defending champs. I doubt very many people would have it was possible. I was backing the guys all Sunday with some friends at Playmakers. There was a bunch of people there. There were families with kids, older couples, drunken frat boys (least that's my guess), just a huge group of people that errupted into cheers when we won!! Super cool!

Hope everyone was able to catch the game!

Link to article about possible suspension
Hrm, possible suspension of Chris Paul. Sounds pretty warranted to me. I'm not a guy, but I hear crotch shots are harsh.

It would only be fair if he got suspended, especially since Hodge got suspended for essentially the same thing his freshman year.

Groan
God, that game was painful last night. I just sat in my seat for a good three minutes before even attempting to stand and make my way down the 8-ga-zillion stairs in the RBC Center. Got to sit behind THE rudest away fans to date. Two drunk boys and two adults that basically served the purpose to egg the two drunk boys on. They actually started cheering when Hodge went down. I mean, WTF?? The girl that sits next to us leaned over the two drunk boys and told them to shut the fuck up, if one of their players were down we wouldn't be cheering for them. She said, You don't cheer when a player is hurt, that kid is someone's son, brother, whatever. All four of them just kind of stopped and looked at her and didn't say much else other than a couple side comments to themselves, a couple snickers. I just hope next year when I get tickets I'm no where near any away team fans. Though I have to admit, Maryland and VTech fans weren't bad, the Duke fans were just kind of...pompous (they were WAY old though, could've been the age factor.)

Listened to some of the post-game stuff on the radio while riding home. Loved that Ilian said he hoped to meet Wake again, 'cause they had something to get Chris Paul. Not that he'd play dirty, he said, but they'd be on him. If we win Thursday, we just might see them again.

I guess on the plus side, that was Wake's lowest scoring game this season. Defensively we must have been doing something right to hold them tight. Still, we need to work on our freethrows. It amazes me how good we were last year, and now it's completely touch and go. Freethrows alone could have made the game for us. And I'm still confused as to why, with no time left on the shot clock, us up by three, the ball in our posession, we were driving to the basket and trying to make a play. I wish we could have just held onto the ball, kept it safe and kept our three point lead. Oh well....

Here's to hoping things go well on Thursday.

It's looking good
I only got to watch the second half of the game last night. While it sucks that we finally seem to be hitting our stride this late in the season, it makes me feel hopeful when watching the freshman crew (Brackman, Grant and Simmons) They played really well last night, and were in for quite a while once we had 3 players in foul trouble. It'll definately suck when we loose Hodge, but it won't suck as bad knowing there's three guys in for the long haul that have much talent.

Anybody else see the game?

Nervousness!!
Gosh, I can't say how nervous I am about tonight! We need to win this basketball game so badly...and last time we played them they won by a point. It was painful, I was there. I just about cried. I don't know if I'll be able to watch the game..gah. At least now that the cloud of illness and injury seems to have left the Pack they're playing like they should have before the colitis, the flu, etc.etc. Kind of sad to see what could have been. We really should have had a kick ass year in my opinion, but there's still room for a strong finish!

Anybody know when track season starts?

Looks like they're gearing up to start selling football tickets. I could only dream of getting a pair. I highly doubt my $11/month donation to the Wolfpack club will get me any special privileges. A gal can dream though, can't she? ;)

Welcome!
I hope that this community will serve as a place for Pack Backers from far and wide to talk about all athletic Pack things. I'm sure right now alot of people are focused on basketball, it's hard not to when you're in the ACC. I'm hoping that we can pull it off and get into the NCAA Tournament. Shoot, I'm hoping we can win the ACC conference!

Personally I'd love to hear more about other sports at NCSU. I know I've been thinking about hitting a track meet or two, and gymnastics is always cool to watch on tv.

Welcome!
